Because it wouldnt be a funny cartoon if the viewer just watched Wile E. order dinner from ACME (if they sold food as well that is). There's no funny, mindless violence in that.

Hmmmm, I think it was the principal after a while, he was determined to get Road Runner cause he had tried too many times and failed. AND did you see how many different flavors there are in a Road Runner-lol It would cost a fortune to buy all those different types if meats and stuff-lol
