Obviously we're talking about school since this is in the homework area. And to answer the question yes, suspension is useful. You have to have some form of punishment for students that misbehave and suspension is a good way.

as this is in homework help i will assume school related
i think suspension is the stupidest punishment, oh you did something bad you cant come to school, im sorry but i know a lot of people who might think that is good. oh you are late/absent too much so you just cant come to school, instead of goin to the part you do come to. Maybe lunch detention/trash pickup, not letting the kid leave school and enjoy their breaks instead of making them miss class would be a better way to go.

It depends on what is being suspended. If we're talking about income taxes, I'm all for it. If we're talking about my driver's license though...

That's a different matter.

Being suspended from school can be useful if it gives a person an opportunity to understand how they got themselves suspended, and can change their behavior before it is too late.

There should be the power to suspend a member who is incorrigible despite warnings. But, other wise, it should be sparingly used.
