At first Consul General E. Spencer Pratt said: "You need not worry about America. The American Congress made a solemn declaration desclaiming any desire to possess Cuba and promising to leave the country to the Cubans after having driven away the Spaniards and pacified the country. As in Cuba, so in the Philippines. Even more so, if possible."
But after they saw the that the Philippines could be an important market for finished goods and that the Philippines has the perfect location for a base to the rest of the East they decided to "free us and teach us to rule ourselves". Sound familiar?

Yes, you are right and I agree with you a 100%. Now tell me why The American does not know that Iraq is backward country and it is still a primitive society in my personal opinion. I wish these people who went to war did their studies unfortunately they dig the hole deeper and deeper. Well I am glad you asking this question but does history repeat itself again?

It can easily be seen that what America is actually doing is just IMPERIALISM. When one looks at what the population speak about Iraq, many responses reflect the exact ones from those of imperialistic Europeans back in the 1800s.

The problem in repetition of mistake can be the one of initially starting the imperialistic decision. However, since it already happen, I think the mistake is to just leave it. If American sudden withdraw all troops from Iraq, wouldn't be the same exact thing the Europeans did after WWII, which lead to the problems in Africa. So if we leave the war, what so many wanted, would it be the real repetition of mistakes?

G'day #15mwu,

Thank you for your question.

You are actually making an analogy with the Phillippines in the 1890s. The US was fighting the Japanese in the 1940s when it was vital that the US and its allies win in South East Asia. It is vital that the US and its allies together with the Iraqis. If the terrorists win in Iraq, we will all pay a terrible price irrespective of whether it was appropriate to go into Iraq in the first place.

I have attached sources for your reference.

Regards
