look my friend if u have just bought it, then go to the shop from where u bought it , is the best option cause you have spent money on it and the shopkeeper will have to exchange the product as u will have the receipt. Return or exchange it... it has a virus or an icu which is flickerign the memory and can harm your pc if u keep on using it.

Why on earth would you need to format it to begin with? MP3 players usually come ready to use straight out of the box!

I'd say that Windows is putting some weird stuff onto it like partition tables and is re-partitioning it each time you format it, hence its memory appears to be shrinking.

Hopefully you have a CD that came with it which has some software tools and a user manual on it? There should be more information in there.

Also try the manufacturers web site or phone support line.

Failing that, RETURN TO THE RETAILER, as someone else has already said.

Sounds like your P.C. is writing Lots of Directories onto this MP3 Player!
Maybe there's a Configuration issue withing your Computer!?
You may need to Virus Scam and re install the software that came with the MP3 Player!
