Maybe she is experiencing a bit of gas pains too. However if she keeps it up, go and see a doctor.

My newborn baby (23 days old) are behaving in the same way. We talked to the doc & as per his suggestion, we haven't got to be worried unless the stools become watery & white.

Some babies are different. Mine strains while having a BM. Used to cry during because of gas until we switched to Dr. Brown's bottles. But he still strains and BM's are not hard. Just different babies do different things. I do suggest the bottles tho. It helps with gas!

My grand-son had the exact same thing. The doctor told my daughter that my grand-son had "fissures" otherwise known as ... small tears in the rectal opening. My little grand-son would cry, just like your little one ... when he had to have a bowel movement ... poor little guy.
The doctor prescribed an ointment to help heal and lubricate. It still took a couple months to heal, but it eventually did. Your going to have to take your little one to the doc ... and see if it's fissures. Wishin' you and your little one the best .... congrats!!

The straining is universal. they have very immature digestive tracts. the colour and consistency are universal additionally. you do no longer might desire to furnish her something to get her to poop. in the event that they're nevertheless gentle, you're large. in the event that they grow to be demanding and pellet like, you ought to make a decision, yet different than that, it quite is large. and that i recognize it style of feels unusual and you like them delicate, yet as they strengthen it gets greater ideal. stable success.

My guess is that it is just gas. Also, it's a lot a work for a little body. I wouldn't worry about it.
