How do you loose physical memory in your computor? I upgraded to 512MB and that worked fine for a while, Now all of a sudden, it shows that I only have 384 MB. What happened?

It sounds like you had a memory module die. What are the sizes of your memory modules? If you have 4 pieces of 128K each, then you have one that is dead. I do not think you will loose half a module, but I suppose that could happen. Another issue to consider is that if you have unbalanced memory modules you increase the risk of your MB not recognizing some of the modules. Or maybe only part of one.
