they came down from the trees, in Africa, and they did not have vehicles to travel with, so they learned how to walk and run upright, their home planet had no name at that time, but it was later given many names, one of these names is earth.
their home planet was wetter, with a belt of forests covering the tropics, that was much wider then what we have on earth now, but the climate became drier, and some of the forests dwindled and turned into grass prairies.

i go for the simple version - we evolved here
why would people have to think / believe that we came here / were brought here? to make this match some religious tales? but it still wouldn't match them on the previous planet, would it?
also some people say "oh we were created by aliens" - fine, but then, who created those aliens? Back to square one
