What REALLY controls the North West Passage?
Is it the US, Canada or the Ice?

at this time international law is recognized as a 200 mile sea border. So Canada has the same claim to these waters as the US does to the water between Manhaten and New Jersey! or Catalina Island and Los Angeles. Does Australia not have jurisdiction to the water between the mainland and Tasmania? Same senerio.

Well, it lies within Canada, but my guess is that it is controlled by the Inuit more than anyone else. But who cares? It takes an ice breaker to get through it anyway.
