I cured my insomnia this way: I cleaned my bedroom thoroughly, including moving the furniture to dust and vacuum, and vacuuming under the bed. I threw out or removed anything that didn't have to be in the bedroom. Then I gave the walls and ceiling a fresh coat of paint. I bought new sheets in colors that calm me (for me it's pale yellow and pale pink), and purchased a new blanket and comforter. I took all the stuff off the walls and hung up just a few things that I really love. I washed the curtains and added some new panels. I haven't had a sleepless night since.

To put it simpler, I made my bedroom a room that calms me and that is decorated in colors I love and with things I love, and I keep the clutter and the dust out.

Good luck. Trust me, this works better than Ambien.

Of course the doctor can give you medication for that.
Benadryl, will also make you sleepy. I take it because of my
sinuses.....running nose, eyes watering etc.
The way, I have taught myself to fall asleep, is first of all have a clean sheets, bed etc. No lights no. then I just tell myself, there is nothing than can be done anymore tonite, and its sleep time, to rest my body for the next day.
I do not think about going to sleep....I take a kind of deep breath, thru my nose and exhale from my mouth, and just keep doing it....sometimes, not so deep breath.....and before you know it.....
you are asleep...no medicine etc.
It might take you awhile.....practice....but remember, do not think of anything at all.........just breath in and out.....
Hope it work for you...It does for me.
Good luck and hope you will be able to fall asleep in no time....
Remember not to worry about anything, or think of anything.
My best to you.

Have a really active day and get yourself registered at a gym where you can work out every evening and have less caffeine during evenings. And let yourself be soaked in a bathtub with some bathing salts. that should get you to sleep like a baby
