If total of all is 48 then 10 dogs.

Let x be the proportionality constant. Then,

4x + 5x + 15x = 48

24x = 48

x = 2

Since dogs are the "5" in the ratio, there must be 10 dogs. (And 8 cats and 30 fish.)
