Absolutely. Consider it this way - right now 50% of marriages in this country end in divorce (and you guys aren't even married). Family is forever. Chances are, someday when your grandfather passes away you'll be glad you had the opportunity to spend time with him (and not the day you upset your girlfriend).

Go with grandpa, you haven't seen him in a year and who knows how long he will be around...Do the right thing and enjoy your time with him...Do not listen to you GF, if she has a problem with it, find a new one...You can not replace your grandpa...I wish that i spent more time with mine, he was a great man....Have fun

You are definitely in the right. It is important to have a relationship with your entire family and your girlfriend should respect that. You should talk with your girlfriend and explain this to her. If she wants to spend time with you then try and find an alternative time to be with her. If she is still being selfish maybe you should re-evaluate your relationship with her.

You are right at this movement. But don't forget, your gf was mad at you. So why not, bring her along with you and you will have both at the same time.

he's your grandfather, go with him and explain the situation to your girlfriend and promise that you will make it up to her some other time.....in this case family comes first.
