you have quite a range of processors there my friend,,, for strong gaming applications a celeron is not the best option,, it lags too much,, ,,, ok i did some research on these ,, and obviously your looking to spend about 80-100 bucks on this,, and you have a socket 775 board,, also called a socket T board,, based on my findings,, and research,, i used input and info from Tigerdirect.com, Newegg.com, ZipZoomFly.com and Laptops4Me.com,, which are my 4 main choices of internet vendors,,
one suggestion,, if you do not plan to use the stock heat sink and fan provided w. the retail packages,, youd be better off buying the open box or OEM models,,, and purchase the heatsink and fan of your choice,, you could save as much as $25 on the processor,, and you can apply that to the cost of the other hs and fan,,
Pent 4 541 has very good reviews,, and is priced at 99 retail, and a little over 88 for open box,,, and you can probably overclock to as high as 3.7 or 3.8 if board can handle it,,
pent 4 531,, complaints of running hot is a big issue,,
pent d 805,, big complaints of a power hog,, and a super heater,, most people said you could fry bacon on it,,, but it does have a 96% overall satisfied rating of 4 or 5 on Newegg.com and it runs 95 bucks ,, most say its the best dual core bargain out there,,,,
didnt find much about the celeron,, but thats not for gaming anyhow,,, leave it alone,, will only be wasted money
ratings,,
if you want single core primarily,,,,
pent 4 541, then pent d 805 , then pent 4 531, and celeron
if you want the dual core primarily,,
pent d 805, pent 4 541, pent 4 531, and then celeron
