I had to read it twice to understand it. Try putting a comma after her.

If the helping took place for a long time, and even up to two years ago, then the sentence would be:

She had helped him, even as recently as two years ago.

If the help has been constantly within the last two years, it should be:

She has been helping him for the last two years.

I would change it to "He had been helped by her, even as recently as two years ago."

Good luck.

Maybe you can try: She had helped him even as long as two years ago.

Couple of things to keep in mind, the way that is arranged..."helped by her" is called passive voice. Active voice would be "she helped him"...most English teachers want you to avoid passive voice as much as possible.

Here's my best work with that:

She had helped him for two years.

He had received her help for two years.
