Do you have a particular sonnet in mind?

For a Shakespeaerean sonnet I would use the Oxford English Dictionary to help with archaic words and phrases.

There is a good guide to explication at the source I have listed. It might give you some ideas.

If you're a university student, you have access to a library where you'll find numerous texts that address individual sonnets.

I recommend the text edited by Stephen Booth. I find his comments to be very incisive, and he also takes pains to discuss instances in which mutliple interpretations of words/phrases are viable.

Google the sonnet and translation.
