The picture is really really dark. I've tried every thing and nothing works. Do I need a new tv? It's not even 3 years old?

Try turning it on.... Oh, and you also might want to make sure the power cable is in correctly and press the POWER button.

Hee hee, thanks for the nostalgia. I have a very old TV (which I haven't watched in a while) that sometimes acts up, but always works if you give it a hearty slap on the side. I wouldn't recommend that for your TV, though. Is it possible that the brightness or contrast has been changed?

You never kick a tv, you thump the top of it a few times....that always works.

Your tuner maybe acting up or your tube. You may need a new set. Slap it on the top of the set. It may come back on. Don't kick it.
