I opened the player while the movie was on to replace a disc. It hasn't read any discs since.

i know 2 things u could try .....do u have a disc for the program?
did it come preinstalled on pc?
if preinstalled...u should be able to go to start..all programs..and somewhere u will see "pc help and tools..or look for maker of pc...then u will see..different options...look for one that says application recovery...open that and select sonic....then reinstall it
or use disc and reinstall it

open the movie with power dvd its on ur system > start all programs menu >> cyber link dvd << thats ur dvd player use that
make up ur pc recovery cd with a . cd(r) disc >>> start all programs menu >> pc-tools >> pc tools recovery cd then creat ur recovery cd dont for get that..

>> cyber link dvd << is ur dvd player and there are other dvd players on ur pc there in the all program menu list
