You can only get pregnant during the apx. 24 hour period during which you ovulate.

However, you can have sex up to five days (some have claimed even a week) before this and still get pregnant, because the sperm can stay alive that long in certain conditions. Sperm life is affected by a number of things, the most important of which is probably the quality of the cervical fluid.

Edit: The tricky thing about ovulation is that, while it usually happens around the same time each month for most people, sometimes it can happen at weird times.

No. "ovulating" refers to the ovaries releasing an egg, and the sperm has to fertilize an egg in order to begin a pregnancy. No egg, no baby.

yes she can..a women can get pregnant at any time, it just at some points in her cycle it can be harder to conceive and there are some points in her cycle where it has a higher chance of conceiving which is ovulation.

the sperm can live for a good while in there so yes but you will have a girl because girl sperm is stronger ,lives longer ,
