With the nuts and crack pots running around these days you better believe it's best to check it out. They have ruined one of the best things kids ever had.

The poisoned candy and razor blade in the apple stories are urban myths. There have been no documented cases of Halloween treats being tampered with. There have been a few cases of parents poisoning their own children's candy at Halloween hoping they could blame it on some stranger, but they've been found out.
Of course these myths are repeated every Halloween, so much so that hospitals waste valuable resources X-raying fruit.

If I was a parent, I'd check all my kids candy, my parents did when I was little. never found anything weird.

YOU CAN'T BE TOO SAFE THESE DAYS. THERE RE TOO MANY SICK PEOPLE IN THE WORLD NOT TO BE CAUCIOUS.
DON'T JUST STOP AT CHECKING CANDY, CHECK ANY FRUIT THAT YOU OR YOUR KIDS RECEIVE. THERE HAVE BEEN CONFIRMED REPORTS OF PEOPLE PUTTING NEEDLES AND PUSH PINS IN THE FRUIT.

WE LIVE IN A SMALL TOWN WHERE WE KNOW EVERYONE. SOMETIMES I LET MY LITTLE ONE EAT A PIECE FROM SOMEONE'S HOUSE WE KNOW WITHOUT CHECKING. BUT I ALWAYS THROW AWAY THE OPEN CANDY. WHO WANTS THAT.

When I was a kid (6-12 years ago), i never checked it and i'm not dead. as long as you don't live in the ghetto that's a time-consuming, stupid idea and it scares your kids. my little cousins never check theirs and they are fine. just go out in an area you know and you'll be okay.

YES YOU SHOULD CHECK YOUR CHILDRENS CANDY. SOME HOSPITALS WILL XRAY THE CANDY FOR FREE.
