Also, how do you know if someone believed your lie or not?

If you want your lie to be convincing you should plan ahead. Like for instance, if you want to take off on Friday and it's Tuesday, you start thinking of an excuse on Tuesday and keep thinking about it thru Thursday. By Friday when you call in, it will be believed. When you come back to work on Monday and someone asks after your illness or whatever excuse you used you won't have to think about it you will just answer naturally. Always look whoever you are lying to in the eye. I don't recommend lying but sometimes it's called for.

Dont feel nervous and when you talk make sure that you have an eye contact to the person you lie.

when you are lying try not to smile.... my brother does that and it always gives him away cuz then i know for fact he is lying lol.
