If you are young and female as your profile seems to be, try reading Sylvia Plath's "The Bell Jar." It's undeniably one of the most important novels of the 20th century. But fair warning - it is depressing. Yet the imagery of the novel is highly poetic and colorful.

An entertaining read if you're into science fiction - the Phillip Pullman series - His Dark Materials. The movie is coming out next year. People have compared it to Lord of the Rings, etc. Great combo of sci-fi, fantasy and adventure.

One of the funniest novels of all time - John Kennedy O'Toole's "A Confederacy of Dunces." A flight attendant saw me reading it and heard me laughing. She bought me a drink. I asked, "What for?" She said, anyone who reads O'Toole's book is fine with me. One of the few books that had me laugh out loud.

One last good read - entertaining and funny as well - Sick Puppy by Carl Hiasen. Also laugh-out loud page turner. A funny look at crazy environmentalists and rich weirdos.

Happy reading!

Read 'Matter of Honour' by Jeffrey Archer and the 'James Patterson' 'Alex Cross series. If you've seen the movie Kiss the girls its the books to that movie. Also if you like fantasy books about magic read the magic circle by 'Tamora Pierce'. Briar Moss is my favourite character in those books. I also love love love Tom Clancy (Young Adult) series of Net Force Explorers books. I think the character Leif Anderson is sexy.
