40% of NIH scientists are looking for other jobs because they don't want to declare their percuniary interests. Do you think this suggest that they have may have been receiving "gifts" for favorable findings and they don't want anyone to find out.

There seems to be a large group here to day. Maybe I'll get an answer this time.

I think that the federal government is notorious for underpaying scientists. Also, they may be appalled by the loosening of laws re the length of time a new drug is tested. We've had a lot of terrible things happen to people (like death) with new drugs & I think it's because the pharmicutial companies have pressured congress to shorten the testing time.
