I was wondering if you needed healt insurance to have a mamogram. Or can you just go to one of the mobile vans by the clinics or hospitals?

No you don't need to have insurance. If you live in or near a major city, you can find a place that will do it at a reduced rate, if not free. In Los Angeles, there were at least 2 health fairs this summer and they offered mammograms at no cost. Check with your local women's clinic. I am sure they will help you or refer to someplace. It is good to hear that you want to do it; it is important. Good luck.

You don't need health insurance, but it costs a LOT without it. Plus, if they find anything and you need treatment, you will more than likely be denied Health insurance because of a "pre-existing" condition.

If there is a way you can get health insurance before the mammogram, I would get it asap.

Damn, there is a commercial that keeps airing for free mammo's in whatever state and I know it starts with a 1-877..maybe try that and add mammogram after it and you'll get the website.

Usually a price, but go to one of your local clinics sponsored by your county. They are usually based on ability to pay.
