Not going to Iraq was not an option. Not an option at all. (im conservative btw). Dems do not have any kind of plan at all for the Iraq war, they are just playing to what the liberal ppl want to hear and thats that they will "clean it up", they are using the war and the death of these kids to get them votes and its absolutely sad. We pull out of Iraq now then those deaths were for absolutely nothing, if we would have never went then we would have shown how weak we were. Does anyone believe for one second that after Pearl Harbor anyone was saying "na we shouldnt go to war", hell no there was allegiance to America back then and everyone wanted to go after they had called us out. And back then there were ALOT more lives lost in 3 yrs than there has been so far. Its pathetic what Dems will do just to get a vote. They are willing to RUIN America to win the elections now, and whats even worse is these liberals are so blind and naive they are falling for every word.

Going was the only option, and there has been some good. We have built new hospitals, schools, roads, etc...we've instilled some faith into the Iraqis who were tired of Husseins rule...the only thing that we did wrong was think that the American ppl would back this war, there is absolutely no patriotism in this country anymore and its sickening. The Dems have ruined it, they would rather see this country fail than to see Repub. prevail. Liberals are keeping our military at a standstill w/ their nonsense.............................

First, you can't simply skip the fact that we should not have gone their in the first place. First, I would make someone responsible for the fact that they took us there when we should not have been there in there, and he would be gone from his job. We have to bring accountability. Secondly, I would tell the American public the truth about the progress or lack of progress in Iraq. Call a spade a spade. Thirdly, Rumsfeld would be out. Cheney would be put out to pasture. Rove would be gone to insure that we were not mixing war with poltics. Fourth, I would stop calling the war in Iraq a war on terrorism, and call it what it is, a civil war and treat it like a civil war. Fourth, I would give the poltiical leaders 90 days to get their act together and tell that at the end of 90 days American troops would be pulled back to safe areas in the country. I would tell them that within a year all American troops would be out of Iraq and we will not have any permanent bases there. I would tell them that when the fighting stopped we would help them rebuild their country which we helped destroy. Then I would relocate some of the troops to Afganistan and finish fighting the terrorists there. I would lthen concentrate of dealing with terrorism as a seperate issue from Iraq and right it not only with force, but would try to win the ideological war which Bush has totatlly ignored.

I don't know what the Democrats will do and they don't either. Ask anyone and you'll get a different story. At best they can tell you they "won't stay the course."

However, what republican should do is move all the troops to the borders and not allow anyone to enter or exit Iraq without good cause and let the Iraqis "have at it."

In most federal prisons when two inmates get into a fight and it's clear there is no weapon the guards usually let them have at it and just keep the other inmates away. In the long run there are less fights as it is settled without intervention.

Something that it has not been done yet.

If I were in control, I would start a time line of pulling our troops put of Iraq. Say over the course of 18 months, I would give all control to Iraqi police forces and bring American soldiers home. If Iraq cannot police themselves that is not our problem. They obviously do not want a government like ours, where Religious freedoms are guaranteed to everyone. I am not so sure that is even the way things really are here in the US. But as long as the Iraqis who have power do not want to share power with those of other religious beliefs, there will never be peace in Iraq.

I'm going to try and answer one of these ?'s a little differently this time. For me, it's not that we could get out of Iraq any sooner than Bush, it's that we want to and he doesn't, not really. Also, so much of what this war represents affects our fear of our current President and those who think like him. We have problems with Iran and North Korea and it seems as though the Republican's answer to everything is to attack first and ask questions later, while the Democrats tend to try diplomacy first and military action as a last resort. I'm not talking about Afghanistan, we should have put all of our force there when we had the chance, I'm talking about going into Iraq. Yes, we're there and it's not going to be easy getting out.but I feel I can trust a Democrat to want to get out badly enough to search out every avenue to do just that. I'm sorry, but I don't trust a Republican to do that, not any longer.

First change the course, come up with something new, like taking large sections like they did with the Green Zone and keep expanding and as Americans we believe in walls, so wall off some sections with some entrant and exit points so it can be controlled. I am not Runnfel but even my plan is better than stay the course. As a Liberal and i don't believe in this war but we cannot now let the innocent people of Iraq just kill each other, now we have to win !

like the final public of politicians Democrats are self serving & in basic terms care about preserving place of work. With that suggested I truly doubt a "good progression" document to come back out of Iraq in September, seem for aspect headed Repulicans to leap deliver on the President after the Petraeus document.

we need to get out and let them deal with their own problems. Obviously our being there is not stopping themselves from killing eachother. So the only difference leaving Iraq is our boys are not caught in the crossfire.

Oh and Egg-Sammash? That was actually the hope of both democrats and republicans- just not the Saddam part, lol. Heaven forbid feeding the poor, educating the un educated ,giving them the option to work with Planned Parenthood, and liberating all the oppressed women of Iraq!

We need to leave, the Iraqi do not want us there, never did. We really have two choice as I see it. Meet force with overwhelming force and a lot of innocent people die doing that, or we can pull back and watch them sort it out. This is my honest belief, the Iraqi people do not want nor will they accept a government set up by the U.S. in our image, lets face it democracy is not for everyone. Lets just cut our loses and run our of there. Yes, that is cut and run, but it beats the sh it out of more U.S. casualty's, for no good purpose.
