I am doing a survey for a sociology course and trying to compile a list of the most intellectual countries and least intelectual countries, which countries are the most intelectual and which are the least intelectual?

There isn't really an answer to this question as intelligence is different in different countries and cultures. Someone in on country may have a skill or speak a language that may appear impossible to someone else in another country i.e. Arabic, Manderin, Russian etc.

I would say Germany is the most intellectual and the USA is the least. The USA is actually more anti-intellectual.
Curiosity and all who equate Intellectual with intelligence: Intellectual does not mean intelligent, it means emphasis on things of the mind and intellect.

If you're talking about the highest % of people who manage to go to college - Finland.
It's hard to answer your question cos what may appear to be the least intelligent country may also be the country that flourishes fastest. Example, Africa but many have become rich due to sales of sandals and shoes (previously Africans do not have footwear).

As I understand it the Finnish have more oomph in the intellectual department. As for the least, pick a third-world county.

You can't make a generalization like that. there are individuals who are intelligent, and people who are well educated (which are not the same thing) in every country.
Are you trying to find out which countries have the most well educated populations, and which ones have the least?

u cant be doing a survey through yahoo answers?? your info will have all kind of . Mabe you should cjeck with census or gov't sites to check national avergaes on tests and exams and compare from there...

That would be very difficult to answer because intellect is a matter of opinion. One person's ignorance is another's genius and vice versa.
