the dishwaser drain caused a leak (for bout 10 years) and cracked the slab on one wall and moved over the years to the next wall, then the whole section of house has dropped about a foot. The door will not shut correctly either. I need help on this please.

You really need to consult an expert on this one. From what you described the house is not structurally sound anymore. It may not fall over tomorrow, but it definately is not going to get any better. There is a method called 'underpinning' to fix the foundation. It is very involved. Consisting of jacking the house up, bracing it properly, digging down beside the existing foundation and adding another section of footing to keep the slab from moving any more. Make sure you get references!!!!! This is something that just about any contractor can figure out and do, but it's not something that just any contractor SHOULD do. I wish you luck.

Well, I'm no expert but I specialize in selling rehab properties and have worked with several contractors. The house needs to be lifted, slowly so as not to further disrupt the walls, door and window frames ect. The house also needs to be piered in multiple places to hold the lifting in place. I would contact a qualified contractor and have the work professionally done and guaranteed as this is a major project, and will come up if/when the home is sold and inspected. A local company whose website has some pretty good information is :http://www.boimanandmyersinc.com.

The house needs to be jacked up, the old foundation removed, and a new one put in. Don't cut corners.

you must first consult a structual engineer, chances are to house will need to be jacked up, foundation removed/replaced, and/or if your lot is big enough just have a new foundation installed and move the house from its existing location
