That's the danger of putting things on the internet in non-secure locations.

When you post on your blog, or livejournal, or myspace, or any kind of forum that's open to the public the information will start to appear in internet search results based off the content and even more it's public so anyone who happens across it will be able to view it.

How to delete it? Go into the forum and manualy delete any posts you don't want any one to see.

How to prevent this in the future? Use secure sites or privacy settings to prevent outside viewers from being able to see your posts.

This issue with this, though, is that once you have started on secure sites and private settings is that only other people with access to those places (people you give access, or were given access by whoever is the admin) are the only people who can see it, so don't expect any if many new viewers (aka, don't expect to meet new people online if you're trying to make all your stuff private)

Everything that you post on the internet (including your post right now on Answers) will eventually be found by search engine spiders and cataloged and sometimes even cached.

The best solution is to post under a very common "handle". Your posts will still be indexed on all the search engines, but will be buried in between thousands or even millions of others!

The screen names, Mary Smith or John Jones should work nicely.

Windows has an autofill feature that remembers information you type in various forms, such as name, address, etc.
If you have your own acocunt on your computer then no-one else will see it. In any case, it will only show up on your computer, not others. If you share a computer and don't have your own account, then anyone who uses that computer will be able to see the information.

There is a way to turn this feature off, but I don't remember how.
