It has already been discovered that a number of bacteria thrive in hot environments like the fissures of magma in the bottom of the oceans. These bacterial life forms are called thermophilic bacteria. Thus, it will not surprise me that there are living organisms in the fumaroles of Mt. Vesuvius. They just have to be isolated and cultured in a similar environment.

as said earlier nature has its own cycle where biotic as wel as abiotic componenets are recycled...when lava gets cooled down,microscopic life like bacteria,fungi start 2 grow....then is followed small saplings,shrubs,trees n then the entire ecosystem in tht region get changed.so there is lif e near volcano..
