beginning to look a little yellow is that normal? Am I doing something wrong?

there will always be some die-back.
it's difficult to avoid.
thoroughly soak the grass once a week while it is settling in.

It likes wet soil and the roots are very shallow. It isn't a real good grass if you have to water it best in rainer climate does well in Hawaii and Florida where it rains alot. Areas where you have a dry season it will yellow.

Probably but next time follow the instructions on the side of the package instead.

yea in the winter it yellows up then with all the rain it will green up again in spring
