i took a clear blue easy pregnancy test i thought iwas 3 days late but according to my menstrual charting i'm late by one day anyways it took 10 minutes for a faint line to show a positive it's darker on the top part of the line and very faint on the bottom part what could this mean?

A pregnancy test will show a positive result in less than 2-3 minutes. When i took a clearblue easy test the second line came up within a minute.
I would retest using first morning urine and do not read any results after 10 minutes
The line appeared after the 10-minute time limit. Is it still positive? No. You can't rely on any test results that appear after the time limit. There is a reason the tests have a time limit-- and torturing us is not usually that reason ;) If a line appears in the "results" window after the time specified in the directions, wait a couple days and test again. HPT's are rapid assay diagnostics, which means any results appearing after the "rapid" time limit of 10 minutes are invalid-- after this time, natural changes in the chemicals may cause lines to appear. (Please don't e-mail me to say this happened to you and you really were pregnant. The odds of having this occur and still end up pregnant are the same as the odds of having any false negative and later detecting pregnancy. In other words, the test is still considered negative; some women testing too early get false negatives.)

when i was late a few days i did a test at home too. it took forever but when the lines came up a had the same as you dark on top and faint lower. i went and got another test kit but not the same brand. i went home and did it again and it came up full on positive.
if your not 100% sure go to your local gp or doctor and have them do a test for you.
you may find out that you are indeed pregnant or may not be. if you are not ready to have a child speak to some one now. if you are wanting children then congratulations if the test is positive.

Chances are I would say yes but it just be a false positive altho they are very rare. I got a false positive with an EPT test not once but twice. Look at www.peeonastick.com I do not trust any HPTs that give a + - reading which by your description sounds like it.

read the instructions on the inside of the test. some say do not accept results so long after taking test, but i'm pretty sure your in the limit and can be expecting a little one soon. wait a couple more days and take a second one. that'll give your horomones levels time to raise higher.

You need to read the instructions. Some instructions will tell you not to read the test after a certain amount of time. I would probably read the directions and maybe take another test and read the results in the time line that they suggest.

CONGRATS! According to my doc, its pretty much impossible to get a false positive on a pregnancy test. Its false negatives you have to worry about. Get a test done at a doc or clinic to ease your mind, then you can start setting up appointments and such. Have fun! Its the best thing ever!

Sometimes the test's instructions say to not read the test after 10 minutes. If it was after 10 minutes, I would say retake. If it was before the 10 minutes, then a line is a line...CONGRATUATIONS. Take care!

Yup your a prego. The hormone your body produces when your prego takes a little time to build up. So it may not show up as quick or as dark this early. But any line, faint or not your pregnant. CONGRATULATION'S.
