My question is about designing a reality show to replace political elections, or even the political process itself.

Details:

Yes, I mean political candidates would have to go for auditions; get selected by a reality show host, or a panel of judges.

They would compete by doing daily projects, or taking on daily intern jobs.

Somebody would get fired or eliminated every week.

Your input:

Please tell me how you'd design this reality 'political' show. Make it beneficial to you, the average man and woman and not just entertaining.

Give the show a theme. For example: The Apprentice, or The Simple Life etc. Also, pick a host/ a set of judges (Donald, Jeff, Phil, Simon etc.).

Design some challenges, or projects, or day jobs for the candidates. Remember, all reality show contestants have no money (accept for daily allowances), no phones, no media or external help - and they need 24 hours to complete each task.

Design wisely. After all, you wouldn't want a bug eater as a politician

Hmmm, how ironic! Lying, cheating etc. I reckon the media and education system has done a great job at convincing us it doesn't exist in ‘noble’ politics!

Gee, I could have sworn that Yahoo was not an extension of the Patriot Act! I guess I was wrong. I'll pull the plug if nothing interesting pops up.

I'd seriously have to flee the country if that ever happened. The idea of taking important issues and turning them into a reality soap opra is just crazy. The amount of damage done would be enormous. Not to mention the increased corruption, cheating, lieing, and smearing.

Hahahahahahaha Nice joke man!

Oh, you're serious. My bad.

No that wouldn't be a good idea what are you thinking? Politics have debates and speeches. Your plan will introduce actors and actresses to politics; a place where they don't belong AT ALL. It would be a reality TV show and who would want to be the star? Paris Hilton and Will Smith. Their fans will vote for them and not the real politics trying to get elected.
These "Presidents", who were voted into office thanks to your idea, would p!ss of North Korea, Iran, and all the other countries that hold a nuclear bomb in the palms of their hands. The internal community of America would crumble thanks to these people...what would they be doing the whole time? Signing autographs and taking pictures.

So no, your plan would not work. It was a good idea and sounds good on paper, though. Also, you didn't even say that the public would vote. It would be a panel of judges. That's just great, Simon Cowell and Regis Philben choosing our president. I'd be buying my ticket to England before the first commerical.

Not a chance Baby Girl.....Not a chance. Leave the current system alone. It ain't perfect by a long stroke but it sure beats "Reality" shows that are anything but "Reality".

And who wants to give the all important job of picking people to be elected leaders of our country to a bunch of Hollywood TV types. Besides we already got the best politicians money can buy. If it ain't broke don't fix it. And please.....don't serve me no more bovine patties.
