I recently lost my first child while i was 5 months pregnant. It's not really considered a miscarriage becuase i was 21 weeks and it's not considered a still born becuase he was still alive, for some reason my water broke and there was nothing we could do to save the pregnancy. It will be 4 weeks this saturday since this happened, We want to try right away, but i haven't gotten a period yet (which i know it can take 4-6 wks after having child). I am wondering if it is okay to get pregnant again right away. The doctor recommends waiting until i have had 3 normal cycles, but i really want to get pregnant right now.

I would advise following Dr's orders. This ordeal can really mess up your hormone levels and you need to be leveled back out in order to maintain a healthy pregnancy.

I know it seems better to get back on the horse sometimes, but in this case you need to give yourself time to heal. Both body and spirit.

I am sooo sorry for your loss. I have had 3 miscarriages myself and am working on a healthy pregnancy now, good luck in the future.

Oh NO!!! You need to wait at least 3 months for your body to heal , most OBs recomended more time when loss of pregnancy is over 20 weeks, so about 5 months but no more than 3 months or you could be dealing with this all over again. Also it sounds like you want to replace your lost baby, take time to heal physically & emotionally first it will help to make sure you have a succesfull preganacy next time & consult your OB before trying again to make sure all is lookin well & healed. Good Luck & sorry for your loss!

I recommend you do what the doctor says -- wait 3 dang months from your returning period before trying to have the baby. Jeez! What's the difference here -- healthy pregnancy -- or not a healthy pregnancy. You make the choice.

MY SISTER HAD 3 PREGNANCYS SHE LOST AND NOW HAS 4 KIDS. AND 2 OF THEM ARE TWINS. IT WILL HAPPEN WHEN IT HAPPENS. I WOULD WAIT LIKE THE DOCTOR SAID. OK THINK ABOUT THIS. IF YOU WOULD HAVE CARRIED THE 1ST BABY TO TERM. AND RUSHED AND JUMPED THE GUN, YOU WOULD EASILY GET PREGNANT AGAIN. BELIEVE ME, I GOT PREGNANT 3 MONTHS AFTER HAVING 1ST SON. AND MY SISTER WAITED AND SHE HAD 4. IT WILL ALL BE OK. LET YOUR BODY FIGURE OUT YOU ARE NOT STILL PREGNANT FIRST. THEN GO AT IT!!!

It depends on you hun. they recommend that you dont have sex for 6 weeks after having a baby because you can get pregnant right away again. dont try so hard to get pregnant. if your more relaxed and he is more relaxed it will happen. i know that sounds weird but its true. thats how i got my daughter whos 4 months now.
