OwNaGeR is wrong, you don't need to buy a program to convert DVDs you legally own. Its not illegal if you actually legally own the movie. I'd go with the 30 GB iPod video, only cost like $250, you can probably find it cheaper like at Walmart.
Videora iPod Converter:

Videora iPod Converter is freeware. Once you have the video converted just open iTunes and add it to your library and next time you plug in the iPod it will load the movie/video on to it.

Beware, unless you plan on paying $10 per Disney movie, you can't put store bought movies onto your iPod unless you buy something like DVD Shark. This is illegal though, but if you want to do that, go ahead.
Get the 30gb. Trust me, you'll never use 60 or 80. If you get the 30gb, and if you find a way to put store videos onto your iPod (and get rid of subtitles) you can put about 4 movies on 30gb. Your battery won't last past 3/4 of one movie, and so you can switch out the movies from your iPod when you charge it.

get a 30 gb one. 60 and 80 is too large and you woudn't wanna use it. why u need that much videos anyway? you have the computer to work on and listen to music don't you? 30 gb is enough for you to be satisfied.

It actually depends on how much you want to alot to videos. To maximize your video space, you should cut down on songs and photos.
