O'Reilly knew he was going into hostel territory and I give him credit for that. Not to mention CBS is just way way far left. Letterman was dispicable, rude, pompous, you name it. He is also a tool who is not educated in what he tries to talk about. He doesnt know his *** from a hole in the ground. I like Bill and I watch his show a lot. Now I dont always agree with everything he says but much of what he says is on target or close. He gives the both sides of an issue and is not really always one sided. He tried to talk like an adult and have a discussion but Letterman just wanted to put him down and try and make him look like an idiot. In my opinion, Letterman looked more like a rude moron and Bill was the only one up there that had a clue what he was talking about. Too bad he wasnt able to respond. I rarely watch Letterman but I will never watch him again. He does owe Bill an apology but you know that won't happen. Let him tell his written jokes the rest of his life that are not even that funny and stick serious talk to those who can do it.

Whoa, bro.....drinking the O'Reilly Kool Aid I see? Was Letterman rude & interrupting, perhaps.
But Letterman is a late-night talk show with a high comedic element.
O'Reilly's show is supposed to be serious news analysis - and O'Reilly does the SAME EXACT THING to his guests - especially those guests whose opinion is different than his own.
O'Reilly forfeited any respect I may have had for him as a "no spin" news analyst YEARS ago.....saying you're "no spin" when ALL YOU DO IS SPIN is what makes O'Reilly one of the most dishonest people in the industry.
At least Letterman is honest where he stands.
The closing line on the interview was the one that was most potent....Letterman said something like, "I admit I don't know much....but I don't think you do either."
At least Letterman is aware of what he doesn't know, unlike O'Reilly who thinks he knows everything - yet misinforms his own followers & supporters on a daily basis.

I used to be a big Letterman fan. I recorded every show and watched them all when I had the chance. In the old days he was fairly controversial, but then he got "nice." He sucks up to every actor and gushes over the "beauty" of every actress, singer etc etc, but when O'Reilly came on he was immediately hostile. I couldn't believe it. I'm not an O'Reilly fan, but this type of treatment shouldn't happen to anyone.
Letterman even said that he thought 90% of what O'Reilly said was false, but later admitted that he'd never seen his show. Now is that the most biased assessment you've ever heard? How can he say such things. He definitely represents the intolerant left.
Anyway, I don't record or watch the show anymore. CBS is going down anyway and oddly enough, I heard they renewed Letterman for another 4 years. What losers.

David Letterman has NEVER done a good show that I can remember. Jay Leno is the REAL comedian. Anyway, I did not see the show, but I like O'Reilly MOST of the time. However, he probably got a taste of what he dishes out on his show to HIS guests. Letterman sucks!!!

I stopped watching Letterman when his program stopped being entertainment . I think ol' dave has had his run and it's time to move on -not that I'm a big O'Reilly fan - but Letterman is no longer funny when all he can do is spew "mindless liberal pablum" .There was a time when he was hilarious . No more . I can't stomach looking at him ; and won't .

The Letterman show is an entertainment show. When Letterman invites someone like O'Reilly to their show and attack it is rude. But, Letterman is real high on the IQ scale so what can one expect. lol

Yes. He was trying to pick a fight. I have some problems with O'Reilly, but he was a GUEST and Letterman treated him like he was a target.

I love Dave and hate O'Reilly, however, Dave ambushed Bill and didn't give Bill much a chance to respond. That's why the Daily Show is the best show on TV. There is no doubt Jon Stewart hates O'Reilly, but when he has Bill on the show, the two of them talk and discuss their point of views without childish comments. Dave lowered himself to name calling, and as much as I like him, he came off as immature.

Letterman was trying to match O'Reilly toe to toe. O'Reilly was trying to be extra nice. Neither was being their true self.

David is not "fair and balanced" adn not expected to be so when he gets someone like O'Reilly. I was surprised Bill even agreed to it, knowing what David would do.
