i own a repair shop,and it can be done,but you can also order a transmission set up the way you want it with the right gear ratio ,a lot cheaper than you can have the gears made for it,we have done this before In a race car,and it was cheaper to buy the transmission than to have the gears made for it,good luck,i hope this help,s.

Why not change the rear end to a highway ratio like 3:73 or something that won't be too high off road but will allow for more speed and better gas milage on road! Just changing 4th gear isn't going to be a good alternative.

fourth gear is a one to one ratio . you are looking for an overdrive. a 3;73 ratio is not a good highway rearend , that would be a 3;00 / 2;75 .

your pocket book is your limit on what you can do. you can do the same thing to automatic transmissions as well
