My best friend was recently raped and took plan B the next day. this was on the 14th of october, over 2 weeks ago. She thought she got her period saturday, but it went away by Sunday evening and is still "missing". Any ideas on what's going on? Could she be pregnant and spotting?

If she is late, there is a chance of her being pregnant. However, it is unlikely. When one is raped, the body goes into a state of shock and pregnancy is highly unlikely. Since she took plan b, the chance is smaller. Also, since her body and hormones went through such a trauma, there is a chance that it is still reacting to that.

However, if her period does not come full force in a few days, she should probably take a pregnancy test just to be sure. Plan B is not 100% effective; no form of birth control is.

I hope your friend is okay and that she is pressing charges against the guy who did it. Take care of her!

first i want to say im really sorry to hear about your friend its great that she has a good friend like you to support her she is gonna need it.second with plan b sometimes it does make your period a little screwy i wouldnt worry to much about it.if she is really worried she can go back to the doctor where she got plan b from and have another exam done along with a pregnancy test.after a sexual assualt the body goes through trauma and alot of stress so it could be normal that she hasnt exactly gotten a normal period.if you need further info about plan b here is a website for you and tell your friend to get some counseling to help her out.

rape is an extremely traumatic experience, perhaps the stress and trauma is holding her period off. lots of things can do this, such as illness, trauma and sometimes even just an increase in activity. unfortunately pregancy after rape is definitely possible, it happened to me. but i suggest she see a doctor, just to be sure.

Anything is possible. Get her a pregnancy test and hold her hand. If it comes back positive, bring her to the doctor for confirmation. Be there for her, this could be terribly hard.
