She obviously is taking you all for granted. You don't have to take it. Stand up for a positive family life. Life is to short to have negative people around even if it is family. My husband and I have had a similar experience. We just do not have anything to do with my mother-in-law anymore....well we do call her on holidays and birthdays, but don't go out of our way to 'chat' or visit. It was a hard choice to make, but we could not handle all the rude off the wall comments, lies, and two faced personality. Once she decides to be a stable person and make changes to be nice to us, that is when we will consider letting her be around us again. Perhaps you and your husband should do the same.
Good Luck-
Stacy

Play on her with kindness. That drives those mother-in-laws crazy. Buy a little gift to give her from the dollar store every week or so and give it to her wrapped up. The small things really turn their heads. Compliments on their clothing or what ever you can think of really helps too. Might take a few months but she'll damn sure come around..... or maybe stay home and out of your hair.

Well my fiance's mother just loves his ex and doesn't say much to me. He doesn't have much of a relationship with her anyway but when we do see her, she looks at and speaks to me as though I'm some kind of child. I mean my fiance and I have a 14 yr difference but she shouldn't be acting that way towards me. I just shrug it off as she is just a bitter old woman who is incapable of being nice to me. Oh well!!! We're getting married in June, regardless of her childishness.

Ok.... Most mothers want the best for their sons. While your husband loves you to death, and thinks you are the best for him, his mother may not.... MOST mothers want their son to marry a mini version of themself!! They want their sons to marry someone that will cook, clean and take care of everything for their son, just like they do, so that they dont have to do it....
in some other cases, most mothers dont want their sons to marry at all, because then, they lose their baby.

Mother-in-laws are never nice. I am accused of stealing her baby, robbing the cradle. I mean come on, her son persude me. Get over it! Its been twelve years. Some of them really make me wonder. They are just mean and should be commited! lol

They are typically diseased with jealousy that yuo have coveted their sons. Mine was like that.......sorry honey.......write her off...just send cards when yo have to and maybe make an appearance...but when you catch her in private tell the ***** to behave or you will drop a house on her.

girl, i feel your pain!!!

she loves her daughters son, but she never spends time with her sons daughter. WTF?

i think women feel threatened by women in their sons lives. my mother in law, yours, my friends and my mom (with every woman my brother dates) are perfect examples. Some people get along with their mother in laws, and i see it as IMPOSSIBLE!

for now, lets just stay sane, sister.
