I had some ideas like... celebrities (watch the Sims grown from D list to A list stars), underworld (everything goth-like), vacation (have the sims go on cruises, amusement parks, etc)... what do you think. Have any good Ideas?

It will be about weather and incorporate the four temparate seasons. That might actually work if they incorporated some of the things you meantioned. Also it would be neat if they finally let you hire a damn accountant to pay those scattered bills.

The Sims My life Sux Expansion Pack - where you never get promoted, lose all your friends and live in a shed.
The Sims Caffinated Expansion Pack - your sims act like they were in fast forward, but the time moves in real time.
The Sims My Computer is Crap Expansion Pack - Your sims become red squares and move around the blue square house. Eat green circles, and go to work in the big yellow rectangle.

i have an idea but its gonna be hard for them to implement
i was thinking about cultures, imagine u can choose the culture where ur family live in, arabic, indian, chinese, south american, african, ancient egyptian...etc
and it will have everything related to the culture u choose, such as the houses, furniture, genetics, clothes, holidays, traditions...
and also u can choose to move ur say for example an american family to live in china.
i thought about it many times
it can be a multiculture expansion or many expansion packs that u can choose to buy the one with the culture u like.
it can be very beneficial also to make the sims2 players aware of other cultures and give them the ability to experience it virtually.
i dont know it can be called "Going Global" or something
everybody pls feel free to comment on my idea:)

The next expansion should be Religion. It'd be awesome. You could pick a religion for your sim and buy them stuff like Bibles or Buddhist shrines.

The next EP is a weather pack where you get the seasons, spring, winter, summer fall. They put an insert inside the Sims2 Pets pack that it's coming in early 2007
