When I moved to another office, I picked up the phone only to see grease and grime all over it. I must have spent a majority of that first day cleaning the phone, cleaning the desk and chair, wiping inside the drawers, and wiping off dust from bookshelves and window ledge. I swear though that the phone was the filthiest object there. It was totally gross. I think I eventually ordered a new phone.

Wow, I definitly wouldn't have guessed that. I've also heard that shopping carts (the handles in particular) are up there in dirtyness too. However, I've noticed some stores put cleaning cloths in the vestibules to encourage people to sanitize the carts...yucky stuff.

Not really surprised at all! I know the people I work with aren't the cleanest! I use a liqiud hand sanitizer and wipes at work often! Also, I handle postal mail, how many people have touched that with their filth!?!?! I know how to keep my space clean!
