OK if you want tropical vacation without spending too much try Boracay, Philippines..... White sands, great beach, cheap accomdation very exotic. Other resorts like Phuket, Thailand or Bali, Indonesia does not have the white sands. Only the beaches in the Fiji island can rival Boracay. Oh I tried Kona Island & Waikiki Beaches in Hawaii the resorts are fantastic but the beaches as not good.

Portugal is amazing and a great secret. Not too expensive, right on the ocean so lots of water activities, beautiful scenery, amazing food and no end of sightseeing and history and architecture from Fatima (their version of the Vatican) to old churches and castles (some furnished for tourists), the royal carriage museum etc. . The weather is warm but not humid and the people are very friendly. If you want the standard resort type of vacation, the Algarve portion at the southern tip of the country can accommodate - complete with golf etc. but more on the pricey side. There are also winery tours in Porto (where Port originates).
