The knowledge and understanding you ask about is evident in the very question you have asked. People will have to change their way of thinking, from thinking of only themselves to thinking of someone else. Unfortunately most people are selfish but there are a few, no unlike yourself, that are slowly changing the way people think of things. Keep asking questions and making people think. That is how it all begins.

I just saw a bird fly past my window. It was a Chickadee. It is going t stay around all winter, even though it gets below zero several nights a winter around here. This little plot of world is worth living in to it.
Last night was an amazing sunset. I was behind some trees, and all I could see at first was a little bit of red on the underside of clouds. It was that dark purplish red that they always show in movies about a post nuclear holocaust world. Then I stepped out from behind the trees and it was probably one of the top twenty sunsets I have ever seen. It was definitely worth seeing.
There is a maple tree down the road with red leaves still on it, it looks like it is made out of satin. The milkweed and dogsbane have gone to seed. There parachutes are so fine that they diffract sunlight, making them look like a peacocks feather when you get close enough to them.
I think this world is an excellent place to live. No one is trying to kill me, I have food to eat, I am in te top 8% of the world's richest because I am have a bank account, and life is generally good when I let it be.

Ignorance and prejudice have not been washed away in the past. What makes you think the future will be any different. Human knowledge and understanding and ignorance and prejudices are mutually exclusive terms. With human knowledge and understanding there can be no ignorance and prejudice. With ignorance and prejudice there can be no knowledge and understanding.
So we have to make the best of the World We :Live In Today because it is all WE who are living today have. We ain't got no more Worlds to live in so we gottaa make do with this one.

There is little if no humanity nowadays.
People were more human in the past. People, and their vices,
must be seen as their environment makes it viable or not.
Let us take race. Race is a relatively recent creation.
Even the popular mind in Hitler's time spoke of the english, french and similar national-races. Before this, people spoke
of races in local levels. Before in religious-geneological levels.
Alexander the Great, the Roman Empire and previous other Empires assimilated and bred with countless peoples without regard to what we now call Race. They were more concerned with loyalties/interests and cultures. They had problems with those who chose to remain exclusive rather than accept inclusiveness. If Race as we know it existed anywhere in the past it was in Iran, Japan, and among the yamamano of the Amazon.

I would not get my hopes up. There is far too much ignorance, corruption, and hate throughout the world for it to be fully peacefull. However, there are still ways to enjoy your life. Just know that even though the world is horribly out of place, it would be far worse were it not for those who tried to make others happy.....Are you one of those people?

Your guess is as good as anyones. But it should be soon that we wake up, and yet nothing is perfect so all will not ever be the same in belief or otherwise. But maybe a majority will wake up. Everything is a constant and that is why Everything goes in Circles.

Prejudice is based more on emotion than intelligence. So ignorance does not apply. And... ignorance is the absence of knowledge. SO ... This question makes no sense.

Unfortunately I think there will always be ignorant people who judge others by race, body type, social class and anything else you can think of. I think it's never going to end. People always have their issues I guess

It is nice to think that as time goes by we make progress toward that end, but the observable truth is quite the opposite. So, never is the answer.
