What would happen if you stop abortions and welfare?

It would be the unwanted kids who would suffer the most. First, by being unloved and neglected, and secondly, by starving and going without the things every child deserves. So what's your point? If you stopped abortions, the birth rate would soar, but the government would step in and at least feed them if nothing else. Stopping welfare except for the elderly, the disabled and the minor children, some of the able-bodied among us who refuse to work, and live off the taxpayers, would have to get off their lazy @sses and get a job. I'd be all for that.

Stopping abortion-

Women who are not ready to have kids will keep their legs closed.
There will be a lot of kids available for adoption.

Welfare-

I would say about 90% of those on welfare would have to earn their own way. Many would end up on the street. Welfare to workfare is needed to get them off gradually. It is wrong to throw someone who is dependent out on their own. This is coming from a person who is against welfare and very conservative.

i think i heard once that there are 3 million abortions every year, that means there would be 3 million unwanted babies every year . if they outlawed this practice we would be finding dead babies all over the place in dumpsters alleys sewers ect. by eliminating welfare im not sure what would happen since out of every dollar spent on welfare only 4 cents actually go to the recipient. i think the beurocratic social service personnel would be hurt most

If you stop abortions, I'm sure there would be alot of women -libbers out thre having a field day. Welfare? There are many many people who need help financially, but there are also many who take advantage of the system. To stop it completely would be devastating.

Good idea, but then, how would those white Republicans get legal abortions, when their daughters get pregnant by a minority? As for welfare, check how most Republicans voted on Welfare reform Bill that President Clinton presented to them. It is in the congressional record.

I guess lots of pot crack n beer babies would be born. But without the social safety net, they would ravage the inner cities, and kill each other off. Also, middle class people would be scared and organize death squads to go around killing the ones that remained, like in Brazil. So I'd say it's a great solution.

There isn't enough prison space to house all of the people who would turn to crime.. women getting illegal abortion, people stealing to survive etc.. plus putting so many women in prison would be very damaging to the republican party.. the republicans just want to use these things as wedge issues, I don't think they really would want to pass those kind of laws.

More poverty but it also act as a buffer to get preggo again too also. They never comeplety ban abortion for pratical reasons its not right to have a child born into world from rape, and incest. Common sense should apply?????????
