any files with jpg or jpeg extension u can make it as your fav icon..or create your own by using paint or any scan images.
first step...change pixel to 32 X 32
2nd step ..rename the ext. to .ico format
thats it!! im sure u know already how to change the icon of existing folder..change icon and browse ur fav..

There are many graphics editors working with .ico files. Try this small one (PixelToolbox):

Some professional editors also support icon files - e.g. GIMP.
