Yes some are Hentai or Pornographic But some of that stuff is the best,Overfiend was the finest Hentai/Manga ever in my opinion tho La Blue Girl had its moments.Kenshin is amazing and so is Ninja Scroll yes there more mainstream but are still awsome.Its the ones you havent heard of that you need to look out for.Kite Uncut is really the pinacle of all Anime/Manga its violent to say the least but the story is awe striking.

Absolutely no way I can pick just one:
Films would have to be Spirited Away, Ghost in the Shell and X (though was anyone else irritated by the ending).
Series: Kenshin (yay), Samurai Deeper Kyo, Fruits basket, Gundam Seed (or Gundam Wing can't make up my mind which I prefer), Bleach, Neon Genesis Evangelion (but again what was with that ending?), Naruto (when they actually get on with the story), Recently been getting into Hunter X Hunter and Prince of Tennis (though these are definitely more kid oriented).
Fruits Basket is the only decent Shojo anime I've seen (I love reading shojo manga but the Shonen stuff just makes better TV).

Fist Of The North Star is the best Manga movie that I have seen.
I also like Vampire D. I thought Street Fighter wasn't bad.
I found Akira a bit boring to be honest with you.

Naruto,you are writing the wrong one,Fullmetal Alchemist.Mobile Sut Gundam,i think Gundam Seed Destiny is the better.Yu Gi Oh, and samurai 7 is good also,and there are many more i had seen before,like One piece ,Keroro,Fruit Basket,NANA,The death note,is great too.

My favourite manga and anime is Gun Slinger Girls. It's all about gun action and drama mixed perfectly. The story is about adolescent girls that almost died (they should already dead) but ressurected as cyborgs, brainwashed, and then trained as government's assassins and doing their dirty's works.
Even if they are the world's thoughest assassins, they're still innocent little girls, this what makes everything interesting. How they deal with everyday lifes, how they feel, how they can love, etc.
This anime's come from novel, and has been made into games (PS2), and manga. I collect them all of course.

It's none of the ones listed it has to be either Castle in the sky or Spirited away, both beautifuly animated I must say.
