About 6 weeks ago, my girlfried got off birth control. We have been sexually active since then, and she hasnt gotten her period. Her friends told her that it might take longer for her to get it since birth control regulates your period, but she thinks that by now she should have gotten it. She said she wasnt worried over the weekend, but brought it up to me tonight. Should I be worried also, or is it possible that it is taking this long.

I think that the best thing to do is to try a pregnancy test. You will know if it's that. Or you can call a nurse or pharmacist to know if it's taking too long.

Since everyone is saying that she might be pregnant, I'm going to give a different side of the story. I'm not saying that she isn't, but I will give my experience.

After going off of birth control my periods were irregular for a few months. So if she has just gone off, there is a slight possibility that it is because of the hormone fluctuations. A lot of that would depend on if she was regular before starting birth control.

I would still get a test to be sure. It's never too early for good prenatal care.

you are a bit late asking such a question. Should have considered that before having unprotected sex. Even the pill is not 100% effective. And many women have conceived children within a week of stopping the pills. Another big reason why people who don't want kids should always always use protection.
Congratulations Dad.

You should be worried. She's probably pregnant. That's the number ONE leading reason for not having a period.

Maybe it's some other feminine health problem but I bet you a nickel, you're a parent.

I THINK THAT YOUR GIRLFRIEND SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN HER PERIOD BY NOW.MOST BIRH CONTROL WORKS LIKE THIS:THE MORE OFTEN YOU TAKE THEM THE LESS YOU MENSTRUATE AND IF YOU STOP TAKING THEM YOU SHOULD COMMENCE MENSTRUATION WITHIN 3-5 DAYS IF YOUR PASS YOUR MENSTRUATION DUE DATE.
