Did the Beatles use this as a hoax or was this really a planned operation?

The Beatles capitalized on what some idiots thought was true. I was in college at the time. It was interesting. Paul was freshly married .....with family in tow, he went off to his place in the Mull of Kintyre...out of the eyes of society, the ludicrous rumor took on a life of it's own. Paul is very much alive and going through something almost as awful as Linda's death.

I think it is safe to conclude it was a hoax. Hey, the beatles and the rest of us were doing a lot of drugs in 67.Silly and stupid was cool.

If he's dead, then that was a pretty good impersonator of him I saw on TV the other day.
It's George and John who are dead, Paul and Ringo still live on.

no..it was all a hoax. he spent time on his farm with family back when it was all rumored. it is not a fake taking his place all this time.
