First of all education is a big key to becoming a politician. Go to school and study something that interests you. Political Science may be a good thing for you to study if the government interests you. however, you can get a degree in anything you would like. I would assume that most politicians excel in schooling so aim for good grades. You must also stay out of trouble! watch the friends you keep and do not do anything illegal. As far as getting into politics the best thing you can do is to have ideas! Figure out what problems there are and what you would do to fix them. After that all you have to do is communicate your ideas to people and if they agree with you then you may have a career as a politician.

I honestly don't know much about that type of job, but I will try to help anyway. I think you should probably study political science, government, history, that sort of thing. The cost will depend on where you choose to go to school, it varies from each school, although you might want to look into financial aid. You should get the best grades you can get no matter what you study. If you would like any more information, you should probably ask your local congressman or another politician. Good luck.

Before you begin anything, be honest with yourself. Do you really want to be in that arena? Are you mentally strong enough? Do you have an exceptional memory? Can you read fast and comprehend and remember details of what you read? Do you meet people easily, speak in front of a group, convince others, are you a natural leader? Do you have any skeleton in your closet? Can you avoid drugs, alcohol, men, women, or anything else that could come back to bite you?
If the answer is yes, you need history, speech, debate, political science. Talk to your school adviser.

Attend a good college, love your country more than any party, do what is right even if it is not popular, work on some election campaigns, and believe in yourself. You can major in political science and the cost will be whatever the normal cost is for a four year degree at the particular school you pick to attend. You will need to have excellent grades if you plan to succeed.

That's the beauty of this country, you don't need anything such as a degree. I would suggest the most important thing is to be true to your beliefs. Don't change for anyone. The biggest thing is to be a good communicator and public speaker. The second thing is know your American history, know and understand why our fathers started thins country and what they wanted with America. Understand why they fought and gave up their lives for us. I would also learn about capitalism because that is what this country is based on.

Also listen to what the people want because after all, you are representing them. As you can see above, we have lost faith in our government and think everyone lies, make sure you don't. Be different.

You are deluding yourself if you think that G20 or G8 are going to make the world into a cool place. All they are doing is vying for their interests. Regulations on CO2 are more about growing government power than solving any climate issues. As a geologist, I understand better than most that climates always change. We live in a remarkable period of time where the climate is just about as good as it has been in millions of years. We are close to th interglacial optimum and no scientist worth his salt thinks humans are responsible for that. We are simply lucky. Go ahead and have your family before we cool off again and stop pretending to be a prophet.

A good firm basis in political science, law, sociology, business, debate, greed, lust for power and control...and above all the most important thing a politician needs is the ability to LIE through their teeth, know they're lying and be able to convince the people they are lying to that they actually believe what they are saying. Without that no political career can go anywhere.

Very good grades, no drugs or illegal activity, you need to be a pretty good liar and have money to pay people off or pay to have someone killed. Also work on your spelling and grammar. Some things you've typed should be in caps, some are misspelled and some you've just used the wrong word all together.
Or, have enough money, like George W. he probably can't spell his name but he has money for someone else to do it for him. Sorry, I couldn't help it.
