A 2000 L tank containing 550 L of water is being filled with water at the rate of 75 L per minute from a full 1600 tank. How long will it be before the two tanks have the same amount of water? Use on one variable

Water in the first tank is 550 + 75t.
Water in the second is 1600 - 75t.
When they're equal,
550 + 75t = 1600 - 75t
150t = 1050
t = 7 minutes.

add550l to 1600 lt gives you total amount of water 2150lt devide by two to give you the amont of water to be in each tank 1075lt now - 550lt already in tank=525lt _devide by 75lt = 7 minutes
