bought a place with ugly blue dark blue tiles and cabinets. Need to do something about it....an eyesore and gives me migraine just looking at it.

Clean the tiles with tsp(buy it at paint retailer) let dry prime the tiles and the grout with a BONDING PRIMER, not just any primer but a BONDING PRIMER. Then you can apply any interior paint that matches the situation. If the tiles get wet in a bath area then use a 2 part epoxy. If the tiles are not subject to a wet situation then you can use an acrylic or oil base trim paint.

There are special paints available for painting tiles.Check Home Depot or such.I think what ever you do the dark tiles will continue to be a problem. How about trying to make them an asset? Strip the cabinets and paint them white.Acquire some of those blue & white decorative dishes to hang on the walls. Use yellow as an accent to brighten the room. There are alot of items in the blue, white and yellow theme.You may grow to like the tiles....well maybe not like...but maybe not hate.
