45 years, we started school together and thought we don't see as much of each other as we would like to we are still the oldest friends each other has.

I have one really close friend since highschool. We have known each other for 23 years, and are like sisters even though we live about 100 km's away. We talk about everything, and chat at least once a week. Another close friend I have known for about 10 years. My Mom however has been friends with her school friends for over 51 years. They live in different countries, and still stay in touch! Cool hey!

I met my oldest friend in fifth grade-- we were ten and now we are both 48. So, 38 years. During the first few years we had a few fights and stopped being friends for a while, but even with that we're in the mid-to-high 30-year range.

I've known one of my best friends since I was 11 (I'm 26 now). Even though we're bessie mates, our lives have taken different paths over the last couple of years; thankfully we're meeting up with another of my mates (who I've known since I was 13) at the weekend and going on a Leo Sayer*.

Not sure what ba 'young heart' is specifically, but I'm 30 & have been close to my friends for 16yrs, 13yrs & 9yrs respectively. I also had a friend that I'd had since I was 5 but she stopped talking to me over a guy (I got them together, she thought he wanted me, insecure). My Father is 70+ & he's been close to his closest friend for 55yrs! They grew up in houses next door to each other, he's my eldest sister's God Father & he & my father are still close now.
