I put this in the category of dumb jokes... Along with this one I made up long ago:
Why did the tree cross the road?
To hide in the bushes!

...I have to give you props, though--people would be more entertained by penguins eating polar bears than trees hiding in bushes.
I'll promote your joke to the next level: only kind of funny once.
And I'm demoting mine to: never was funny, never will be.

There are no polar bears in antartica because they didnt see any point of moving south for the winter.

ITs to far to swim.

There would be nothing for them to eat.

For the same reason there are no penquins in the North pole.
But seriously, it has always had a climate that would not sustain any life,most likely.
